John R. Kyle

Author John R. Kyle ‘s family met his material needs. He attended college at an his state’s flagship university, an AAU member. Graduating Magna Cum Laude from a Tier 1 law school, John’s great expectations did not come to fruition, in part due to pride. Depression set in and John eventually turned to a variety of outlets to help him escape these haunting failures. Despite making so many wrong choices, he never stopped reading newspapers and books during this turbulent time.

A Quest for Answers

Eventually, an epiphany came to John: although his material and intellectual needs lacked for nothing, his spiritual, social, and emotional needs remained unmet, sacrificed for comfort, ease, and escapism. This led him on a quest to try to restore the balance in his life that the human condition needs, whether it be intellectually, emotionally, spiritually, or socially. During his quest, he discovered many opportunities to experience life at all levels of the social spectrum.

A Common Problem

John noticed that many people suffered some form of what plagued John. Nearly everyone he met experienced a type of John’s issues regardless of social status, net worth, or political leaning. It seemed endemic to the social, financial, and political environment.

A Novel Solution

Inspired by his own experiences along with influences of Aldous Huxley’s Brave New World and Mary Shelly’s Frankenstein, John seeks to explore the long-term consequences of this imbalance in the human condition, the prevailing wisdom about the causes and the answers to it, and the solutions he found in his quest. His decision to publish now stems from his observations of the growing number of financial elites and power brokers seeking to use technology to control human beings—and rid society of those things these powerful people see as obstacles to control.

Change Begins with Acceptance

Acceptance of the past is where lasting change begins, a core message of his debut novel, Dissent: Acceptance, the first book in The Dissent trilogy. In its pages John hopes to instill new hope among the those suffering from despair or the epidemic of loneliness technology thrust upon our world. No matter their age or whether their disadvantages are economic, biological, or social, John hopes to show through the written word how one can find purpose in life no matter how unfair that person’s circumstances are.

Coming Spring 2026

John’s currently working to put the final polish on his initial manuscript and is already outlining the second novel.
