Mutual Assent: One Month Later
It’s been a month since I first launched the first book in the Dissent series, Mutual Assent. The growth I have seen in the Dissenters community helps me in a way difficult to adequately put in words. Best I can do is: Thank You.
Thank You To My Critics
I am honored by how well the book has been received and the sheer number of positive responses I have received to it. It is unsurprising to me that I have found my critics as well.
To be honest, I would be more worried about the book if there were no critics. Critics are a sign of healthy discourse, something I wanted this book to create, so to see them means that I have succeeded in my goals.
As the English philosopher, John Stuart Mill, once said about dissenting opinions, “Truth would lose something by their silence.”
Thank You To My Supporters
It is incredibly humbling to be a part of this movement to reclaim the dignity of every human person and restore power to the people. I never imagined that this would be the direction my life would take when I began outlining Mutual Assent.
At the time, I was simply seeking to answer my own questions about how humanity had arrived at this point and what might happen if we continued in the direction we were going at that time. It wouldn’t be until much later that I would realize what these words could do if I found the courage to share them with others.
Thank You to My Team
I am extremely grateful to my team for their support on this journey. Their willingness to walk with me on this journey and to be involved in the planning required for the book signings, the interviews, the events, and the conferences has made the growth our community has achieved possible.
